박원호 국무조정실 대테러센터장은 7월 2일(목) 뉴욕 유엔본부에서 알렉산드르 주예프(Alexandre Zouev) 유엔대테러실(United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism) 사무차장 권한대행과 면담을 갖고, 동 계기에 「유엔대테러실이 대표하는 유엔과 대테러센터 간 양해각서*」에 공식 서명하였다.* 영문명칭: Memorandum of Understanding between the United Nations, Represented by the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT) and the National Counter-Terrorism Center of the Republic of Korea
대테러센터 대표단은 유엔 대테러주간(UN Counter-Terrorism Week) 계기 열린 제4차 「유엔 회원국 대테러기관장 고위급회의(United Nations High-level Conference of Heads of Counter-Terrorism Agencies of Member States)」 및 유엔총회 본회의에도 참석하여 우리 대테러정책 및 제도 등을 국제사회에 홍보
- 동 양해각서의 주요 내용은 △효과적 테러 대응을 위한 상호 협의 및 정보 공유 확대 △컨퍼런스 초청 및 참여 등을 통한 인적 교류 △우수사례 및 연구 결과물 교환 과 공동 연구 등이며, 양해각서는 서명일로부터 5년간 유효하며 양 기관의 동의를 통해 갱신될 수 있다.
